Should I buy an electric guitar?

I am 16 years of age, I can do most basic chords on an acoustic guitar. I can play G major well, E Major, E7, E minor, A Major, D Major, D7, C major, I can play these chords reasonably well. But I am afraid, I may lose interest and all that money has gone down the crapper, Also, I can strum a song with these chords, but it takes me a while to change. What do you think, the guitar I am going to buy is only 99 pounds, and I guess I can always learn from this electric guitar, but with those chords I have stated I can play, do you think it's worth me getting an electric guitar? Thanks.
